Freedom such as we are blessed with in our country does not happen by accident. The rights and privileges of self-government were purchased at a high price. Many lives have been sacrificed for the cause of American liberty.
 
Every generation of Americans has the responsibility to guard the principles that hold our freedom firmly in place.
If these principles are discarded or forgotten, the beautiful portrait of our American way of life will be lost with it.
